Pledge
Pledging marks shares in your demat account as security for your broker, without selling them. Pledged shares can give you margin for trading, and shares bought through MTF are pledged automatically. You still own them, and they come back when you unpledge.
Brokers charge a fee for each pledge and unpledge request, per stock, typically ₹15 to ₹30 plus GST. The margin you get is the share value less a haircut that depends on the stock.
