Trade-for-trade (T2T) segment
In the trade-for-trade segment every trade must be settled by delivery: you cannot buy and sell the same stock in a day and net the two. Exchanges move stocks into it, often as a surveillance measure for unusual price moves. On NSE these stocks trade in the BE series.
Selling a T2T stock you bought the same day is treated as a short sale and can lead to an auction penalty. Many brokers block intraday orders in these stocks for that reason.
